The Spectral Charger is one of the rarest and most sought-after mounts in Diablo 4. It looks fantastic, with a ghostly glow, and you can even see the steed's innards. It is a perfect companion for your journey through Sanctuary, but how do you get the Ghastly Reins to drop?

This guide explains exactly how you can get the Spectral Charger mount in Diablo 4, as we did manage to find one ourselves, so let's mount up and get started.

How To Get Spectral Charger Diablo 4 Mount (Ghastly Reins)

As with all mount drops, you first have to unlock the ability to ride mounts in Diablo 4 before you can actually use the Spectral Charger. It is, however, not needed to get the initial drop.

As per the official image from Blizzard above, you can unlock the Spectral Charger mount by getting the Ghastly Reins drop during world events. While this indicates you can get it from any of those live world events, this might not be the case.

We got our Spectral Charger mount drop in Diablo 4's Legions event in Fractured Peaks, and multiple reports indicate that the specific event in Fractured Peaks is where you can get this rare drop. Specifically, the one which unlocks after you complete the Kor Dragan Stronghold. We ran this event every time it popped up on multiple characters since the launch of Diablo 4 in early June 2023. Why? Because Legion events are one of the fastest XP-per-minute activities you can do.

After a month and dozens of runs, we finally got the Ghastly Reins item to drop. Be sure to check all loot drops from the Legion event in Fractured Peaks, as the item is easy to miss on the ground, especially if you are only looking for Legendary or Unique items. Once you get the Ghastly Reins drop, simply activate it, and the Spectral Charger mount will show up at your stable.
